Not very helpful without a make and model of lappy mate. Try ebay as you can get a real cheapy from China or Hong kong but makes sure theres a warranty. A new after market battery is normally bigger capacity and will last longer than the original. Dont rule out a Uk seller as it may be worth paying a bit extra incase there is a problem and it needs to be returned. Good luck mate

Regards.

Adam.

Ebay. Its worth spending an extra couple of quid tho to get one supplied from this country, china ones could take a couple of weeks to come through and you may get stung with import tax.

Try to get a genuine one too made by your laptops manufacturer

G-lord, I replaced my laptop batteries (it takes two) last year, Think I paid less than £50 for the two and they have been fine!

Junior's Advent 7111 just died with a motherboard fault.

Battery is still OK so if you can find out if it is compatible, he's open to offers! He's bought a new Dell.

Last 2 used laptop batteries I sold on eBay, one went for £20, one went for 99p - bargains either way.

Ebay is not where it's at.
I have ordered from the site below over 100 times, and NEVER been hit with taxes, if it's under a certain value no notice is taken.
Depending on age most of the lappys use 18650 cells, lithium ion/polymer, the packs can be taken apart carefully and re-batteried, not hard to do, newer ones will not only be vastly better performance, but also a high spec, as they are increasing all the time(mah).
Just look on www.dealextreme.com for the batteries after taking measurements, as there are stack loads of different sizes.
If you get stuck with the sizes I will be able to get info for you, it's not improbable on some to get 3 times the run time with decent upgraded batteries, that charge just as normal ie in lappy.
