Sure it can be done but wouldnt you be better fitting a zetec or another CVH

No gains at all for running a pinto engine. zetec far better and easier to fit.

if yours is an xr3 - not a 3i, there's lots of wiring, however if you get a donor car you only actually need to cut 5 wires, the rest of it is straight swap in ( the 5 wires you need are the ignition etc ) you'd also need to change the petrol tank etc

if a Cosworth YB (a Pinto with a Fancy Head onit) can fit in a MK4 engine bay FWD & RWD, i don't see why a pinto wouldnt...
