Default pinto/YB alternator compatible?
Hi would anybody know if a pinto alternator will fit the YB cosworth engine? Thanks in advance

It's not so much the engine, rather the output.

A Pinto one will fit, (may need your pulley depending on what type belt you have) but the output may be lower, what model Cosworth is it?

hi marty cheers for that, its a 2.0 yb 2wd just you put cosworth in front of anything and the price shoots up you know how it is lol.

But what model, i.e. MK1 or 2? The latter had a 90 A unit, so you don't want to buy an underrated one!

whats wrong with your one,very rarely go wrong,just change the brushes/regulator.you should be able to do it in situ,about half hours work.

hi i dont have a one i got the engine without it its a 1989 from a sapphire, but its all going into my 3 door. cheers
