I've got a 1.8 16v zetec in my mk4 escort, i've just picked up a 2.0 blacktop and I was wondering if it's the same process as converting to a 2.0 silvertop or if there is more involved/differences?
I understand that the engine mounts are different but that's all I can think of?

The blacktop uses a cartridge type waterpump hence why I said the waterpump setup is different!
Oil filter on the blacktop is slightly different and the sump iirc is 2 pieces.

The sump can be swapped for my 1.8 afaik which is a single peice and clears the exhaust, will the oil filter cause problems?

the silver top mounts onto the oil pump thats all.
and the black top oil pump is better you can get billet gears if you really want to rev the nuts off it you cant for the silver top one.
