The largest drain hole in the world

http://fogonazos.blogspot.com/2007/0...hole-ever.html

LOL you beat me to it.. they must be nutters

A meter square of water weighs 1 ton SO it swallows a rate of 48,400 cubic feet per second (1370 m³/s).

i was there a couple of weekends ago doing a bit of a tour of dams and reservoirs.

those drain holes were amazing, in fact the whole place was well smart and so nicely built. just up the valley is the derwent reservoir and dam, and that is spectacular as well. a few pics, more on facebook

when the dam is full and water is flowing then that thing is dangerous as fook!! Do they still build dams like this cause I doubt they would pass the goody two shoes health and safety guidelines now!!

Very cool though!

Well worth a trip over if your in the Manchester/Sheffield area. And you get to have a blast over the snake pass. Watch out for flying piggys with little cameras!
