hi all i had my minibus stolen last night had knock on door at 4am from police asking if i owned the van and where is it parked to my surprise it was taken of my drive yet its a noisy diesel and never heard a thing , lucky they had found the minibus in a petrol station after the cashier raised the alarm .
so today had to collect minibus from bourhunt took no cash just id a proof of ownership then get told i had to pay £105 for the recovery what a piss take first i get it stolen then get hit with a charge of £105 they sure know how to make a bad situation in to a worse one but on the plus side there was no damage to the minibus looks like they had a key which was a surprise so just spent last few hours fitting immobilizer to minibus and also brought a wheel clamp as police told me they will tow it down the road then try and get it started .
if only i could of caught them ild break all there bloody finger after putting me through this hassle and the cost involved .
so if you live around Portsmouth be aware there after minibuses now
sorry to bore you lol
thanks
Andy

Glad to hear you got it back. Police always recover stolen vehicles now as they don't want to leave them and then tell you and you go there and find it has gone. Insurance normally cover the recovery fee though and the money goes to the recovery company, not the police. It is a standard fee countrywide now. You did well to get it at £105 as I thought it had recently gone up to £150!

Surely if the person is every found and prosecuted, you get your money back? That's a joke that, having to pay. Well, at least you got it back in one piece. 7 kids? You must have the patients of a saint!

If they catch the culprit/s they offer the chance to fess up to other crimes, which they readily do as it gives a good impression of their cooperation to any judge, should it get that far, they never ever get what is due for all the crimes
Plod decide a lot of the time and issue a fine, which is actually illegal, as it is to issue any fine without a "judicial process", part of the human rights act, ie everyone is entitled for anything that results in a fine of having it considered in court, and if a statutory fine of whatever amount the court cannot increase it, just because you elected court.
There are hundreds of crims going to court everyweek a lot with over 200/300 burglaries to thier name, when caught they fess up to another 30-40 and after that they cannot be done individually for each as it has been "dealt with".

i think the law should change to many criminals know if they are caught its just a fine and community service so they will just carry on with there crimes it should be if your caught then depending on the scale of the crime they should be jailed not just 3 mths more like min of 5 years that would surly make them think twice about doing it again .
In this day and age the law is weak towards criminals and half of them have no respect for the law or police, but that's my own opinion.
oh and just to clear thing up i have 4 boys and 3 girls .
