Its not something that someone will post up on a forum about and don't you want the issue sorting? What were the other readings apart from CO?

first fast idle test
co level @ 2887 rpm 1.30% fail
hc level @ 2887 rpm 146 ppm pass
lambda @ 2887 rpm 0.99 pass

second fast test
co level @ 2857 rpm 2.10% fail
hc level @ 2857 rpm 167ppm pass
lambda @ 2857 rpm 0.95 pass

natural idle test
co level @ 890 rpm 9.98% fail

put new lambda sensor in 2 day and its still at nearly 10% at natural idle

the only thing that ive changed is the injectors to 2.0 litre mondeo injectors as one of mine started to leek and ford wanted £200 for 1 injector , there is 5cc in flow differences between the two but both run at 15.4 ohms , you can smell it over fueling but i wouldnt think that at idle that it would chuck that much more fuel in , i have brought a rs1800 injector so i will fit that to see if that cures the problem,
anymore ideas welcome
cheers paul

I would give it a service and check the MAF first.

the car gets serviced every 3000 miles by me , thats oil , oil filter , fuel filter , maf cleaned (new 6 months ago) k&n induction kit cleaned and re oiled , spark plugs , coolant etc , power steering fluid , thats why iam pissed off as this car has cost me a fookin fortune to maintain , all with genuine ford or uprated parts . its had new everything even new paint 2 months ago , i will fit the rs injectors and if its still high then i will fit a new cat , i know its the wrong thing to do asking for a dodge mot even if it is the emissions but surely all these high powered zetec turbos / cossies dont meet emissions and they get passed , i need this car for work so if anyone knows anyone let us know , i also want to get the problem fixed as well its not just a case of pass the mot and leave it
cheers paul

High powered cossies & the like will pass the MOT no probs provided they have been mapped correctly by someone that knows what they are doing!!

Just because they need lots & lots of fuel when on boost & make lots of power is no excuse for a crap C0 figure @ idle!!

i would say it is a sensor problem maybe a water temp sensor as it reading wrong and adding the extra fuel the ecu think it needs cheaop solution and easy to check with your volt gauge
