Default Apprenticeships - Remit.co.uk?

I've been looking at various apprenticeships on www.apprenticeships.org.uk and have found one I am interested in, Vehicle Body Repair.

The job advert said I have to apply through remit.co.uk - so I signed up yesterday and got a text this morning telling me to email my CV to them.

Was just wondering if anyone has any experience with them? How long they take to contact you? etc

remit are just a training provider - you'd be better off finding a job and then getting the training...

I think you'll find In-Training has picked up most of Carter and Carter's good business, with the scraps left for the rest

It's an apprenticeship with a local paint/body shop, but they want you to apply using Remit.

Think I might give Remit a ring today to find out if they got my CV.

You'll have more chance next month....i imagine most providers are full this month as they will be hitting their allocations......next month is start of new contract and they'll be desparate for starts to get going..........good luck.

The way it normally works is we sell to employers wanting to get their existing staff trained with an NVQ/AP/AAP with no cost to them other than the time.

We dont take people and place them into a job to do an apprenticeship specifically, altho we do offer jobsearch facilities to those who have been through our doors at a lower lever and often we will help them get a job then again offer the employer/learner an apprentice at no cost

Apprenticeships are really for those who are already employed and wanting to learn the trade they're in, altho some providers offer in-house apprenticeships, they are costly and getting few and far between especially if its a trade that requires practical skills with tools/materials etc.

That doesn't sound good for me. I just finished a foundation course in Graphic Design, which I hated. So now I'm trying to find an Apprenticeship in a bodyshop, so I can learn a trade.

Some companies have positions especially for people who want to do apprenticeships.......it's cheap labour afterall, but its tough times for employers at the moment...........we hav had a significant drop off in the number of people we can get into jobs despite having some of the best job entry rates in the industry.

Good luck with your search....just keep at it and you'll find somewhere.
