Default SECS Monitor Boost limit set??????????

Fitted the new engine, all is great

Turned the boost upto 25.9 (high for greens i know) but before it got there, it came up with something like:

WARNING HIGH MAP PRESSURE

PRESS ANY BUTTON

Then it started flashing

Does it have a boost limit set by SCC when they installed it?

I'm going to turn the boost back to 22psi for now....

Any help much appreciated!

Cheers

it is just an alarm setting on the SECs monitor. U can adjust this by pressing both buttons together then scrolling thru the menu to alarms and set the required amount u want it to flash at to warn u of potential problems.

it also started to split and splutter, is this the monitor stopping it from boosting?

Cheers Ran!

The monitor only displays info mate. It can't control boost aor anything.

IIRC Andy set a limit (if it's the same car) and if you haven't changed it then it will still have that limit set.

Simon, it was fitted when a previous owner had the car and he may not have passed the instrustions on when he sold the car. If he did pass them on, then 2 traders have had the car in between owners and may not have passed them on.

PhilM,

I am in the middle of getting the website(s) updated and will put the manuals up.

If anyone wants a manual in the meantime, PM me your email address and I will
mail it back (word/wordpad file at present)
