How do car alarms work, i.e. would you be able to turn a car over?
Just want to eliminate something simple on a car I have, I'm not some dodgy geezer who's Twocc'd a car
The car has ignition and will turn over, but won't start, it is my understanding that if it was an imobbiliser related issue i wouldn't get any of these things to work, so it must be a problem elsewhere???
p.s I can't find any evidence of an alarm anyway, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Immobilisers usually have 2 or 3 circuit protection I think.
That means it has the ability to immobilise 2 or 3 individual circuits.
The circuits immobilised would be the fitters choice but would typically be starter, fuel pump and perhaps ignition too.
could be one of the circuits isnt re-mobilising.

Hmm thanks for that, well it doesn't seem like that's the problem, the fuel pump get power, I can turn the engine over, and I get ignition, it doesn't fire up though. Also checked and it's getting spark so that's why I'm confused, going to check if the injectors are opening, i know they're getting power but the ECU might not be opening them. Failing that I'm going to swap the coil and the plugs and see if that helps.

I just sent him a PM with the details, not going to offload it too cheap as it'd be a good car with a small bit of welding and a new MOT, just have alot on my plate with the silver one which needs a new turbo and it's looking like i'll have to rip the front end apart to find this effin' steering issue that no one seems to be able to find the cause. IF i get it running this week i'll keep it for a while longer, and get it MOT'd. Not forgotten about the brakes though, I'd have liked to have that put to bed ages ago, but i have to prioritise getting the steering fixed etc. Is any night this week good for doing your suspension???

Most cat 1 are two circuit immobilise.
I always immobilise after the ignition so the lights work, but cut starter feed and ecu feed, as this does pump, but some just cut pump feed and starter.
