Mondeo X plate Verona back doors wont open! :(
Evening all,
Just recently bought a mondeo 1.8 verona to find the back doors do not open from INSIDE and OUT! We checked before we purchased the car and everything was fine, then I got it home found this problem also the front passsenger door dosnt open when I use the central locking but can be opened physically by the key. I have obviously checked the childlocks.
There seems to be huge resistance and the doors wont budge, deadlocked?
Any advice will be appreciated.
Best wishes

happened to mine
i had to change all my centrallocking motors for any to work lol
but and a big but the rear doors are deadlocked, so you have to remove the door cards and smash the lock mech off to reveal springs sliders to unlatch the door
shit job mate but one of the motors has gone down and fried all the others
but one of mine have stopped working all together a couple days after i changed them, so i also think it could be a loom fault in the door which caused all this trouble

Heres a reply from some other forum:
Bartek its something to do with the deadlock mechanism. The passenger door doesnt open with the remote or from the inside but when you physically unlock it with the key it comes open. The back doors not having key holes are unable to be manually opened.
When we looked in the manual it says about the second phase deadlocking. Apparently you push the open button once and the drivers door and boot unlock, which they do. then push it again within 3 seconds and the rest of the doors will open - that is as far as i can work out the only bit thats going wrong.
It says you can deactivate the deadlocking by doing a sequence of key turns in the drivers door but nothing worked when me and eddie tried it.
Options: ford/mondeo owners forum, ask some questions or garage!
