LAPTOP to TV ???

Default LAPTOP to TV ???

HI there i bort a new tv last weekend and i wont to link my lap top to it i was told all i would need is a HDMI lead well i got one pugged the lead into the lap top and into the tv HDMI port 1 put a film on and it dont work . im not the best when it come to this stuff i bet its just a setting but i dont no any one help my

had the same problem with my sony lappy its the display settings on the laptop but still couldnt get it to work it to work propely soz no real help just have a butchers an try a few things just remember what u changed it from

i had the same prob, try switchin the lap top off and tv then start the laptop then tv,
mine worked after that,

On mine I just right click - personalise - on the left it says connect to projector or another external display (This is on Vista) Then connect display. Should work

thanks mate that did it spot on

but just one last thing it only using about 75% of the screen is there any way of sorting that out

im guessing thats your tv, try adjust it to widescreen or whatever your using?

yeh just sounds like its running at 4:3 14:9 resolution or something
