I've fitted it to mine!! I'm restoring it at the moment, it will be ready for the summer. in the world of trying to be a bit different, this was a mod I just havn't seen and i just wondered why? I had a real mixed response though, and comments like " you'll lose the feel of the car" but I have a couple of other Quick cars both of which have power steering and the feedback through the wheel is fine, (also cossies have power steering) I just think that Ford didn't fit it becuase of cost, and at the time they didn't have to becuase most of the competition at the time didn't have it. ( I can only think of the astra gte that did)

B19 TRB thanks for the reply, I don't want to sound "wet" but you're car was partly the insperation for mine! Small world

i would have thought it was hard

the only CVH engine ive seen with power steering is the PTE variant (1.4 injection)

fitted in mk5/6 escorts and late m3.5 fiesta Si's

the pump mounts above the alternator and a larger bottome pulley with an extra belt groove is needed

on a t3 equiped car it may jsut fit but not a t2 fiesta

Nobody ever looked in to going for an electric system like the ones they have on corsas? Conventional belt driven systems sap power out of yer engine!

You can buy a electric power steering motor that simply clamps to the steering colomn under the dash.

I think the company that do them are called DC Electronics.
