Default Dado Rail - Please help

Can you post pictures of your rooms with a dado rail, maybe with some pictures of it in relation to the windowsill?

I'm having a dilemma doing our lounge!

dado rails are so 90's. ive not been asked to fit one of them in years. usually the rail would be higher than a window sill with the dado rail being mitred in on itself either side of the window.

cheers...we're having one because of pattered wallpaper on top and a plain colour below. However the wife is saying it should be in line with windowsill and i'm adamant it should be higher, by about 2-4 inches........

Dado rails are usually put at the same height as the chair backs in the room-to prevent them scuffing the walls, obvious really! john.n

What a sensible answer
(although more relevant to a formal dining room than a 3 bed end of terrace lounge mrs bucket style of course!)

it will look sweet once finished, it will suit its purpose ,and being a big room, with the planned wallpaper/colourscheme (38ft by 14ft )it needs it IMO

thanks fuzzy
