engine damage after overheating?

just pulled head of mates car after it seriously overheated it a 2 litre ecotec engine but what is worry ing is if when we turn the bottom end over by hand it gets really tight at one point then goes loose do you think the bottom end is fucked?

you will prob have to remove all the valves and reseat them too m8, pour water into the inlets / exhaust, if it dribbles out the valves you need to get the pasted etc out
