ordered 1 of them sump plugs from stu at msd,its got a little magnet on it,at the end that isnt in the engine,is it meant to be at that end or meant to be in the engine?

it's a sample of another product he's selling.......u get 6 magnets that go on/round ur oil filter and pick up sworf.............intead of asking "dipshits" on here i asked stu.........

 

I've heard using hard drive magnets (fecking strong) to put round your oil filter works a treat, BUT if they fall off, it may dislodge a load of metal at one time!

Just to clear things up, the small seperate magnet (about the size of a small watch battery) is to go on your oil filter

That's right Pete, to buy them they normally come in packs of 6 to be spaced out around the filter. These are individual samples in with the drain plugs i believe. Just wanted to clear it up before one ended up loose inside someone's sump

 

Would it end up loose though? The sump plugs can hold a hell of a lot of tools

im in no way mechanically minded so thats why i thought id ask otherwise it probably would of ended up in my sump
