Default Mong Alert - help needed

Am i being a mong or is it this guy?

I'm doubting myself now as he's so convinced

i've got a video on youtube of my car's turbo "chatter" and this absolute mongchild said it's not chattering it's a dump valve- he went on to say that turbo chatter is the whistle you hear on rally cars?

WTF?

Here is said video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPZZv...&feature=email

I'm 100% it's not the dump valve cos it was in the glovebox at the time but I do also accept that i'm not the font of all knowledge when it comes to turbo's etc.

So if i'm right plesae state so and then abuse that asshole on my youtube video, if i'm wrong I shall prepare for a rear ending

Default Turbo Chatter

I run ALS on my little car, obviously you cannot run a dump valve with ALS or the ALS would not work. The chirup noise you hear in a rally car or on my setuo is the turbo stalling when the TB shuts and there is a huge volume of air in the system. Can be quite destructive, but if you run ALS you have to put up with it.

The higher pitched noise from rally cars is because of the huge boost that they run and the short gear change and the fact that there flat out when changing gear

You were mearly driving so your car doesnt create as much boost, hence why it was a slow dump valve`ish sound if you like

The chatter is the air trying to return through the turbo when you lift of the throttle and the blades chop up the air, the faster the turbo is spinning the smaller the "chops" are hence the higher pitched noise

If anyone wants to correct or tidy up my description feel free

Just get an ecu that supports flat shift, so you can change gear with your foot flat on the floor all the time, no need to let off, cheaper than als.

Mate, you've just found a way to make millions!!

You can make a dump valve sound from your glovebox, hence you can now sell it to saxo owners, who only need to put it in their gloveboxes and then have all the sounds of a turbo'd car! Well done!
