Traffic cops are wise to it, and it's a case of 'perverting the course of justice' if you're stopped. It makes the Laser give off a wild reading, and doesn't actually stop it from working - so they know they've been 'jammed'.

Or you could be talking about opening your garage door, they're ace at that.

It brings up an error 3 i think on the gun cause ive had a go with a gun and a car fitted with one. This error can be brought up by the slightest movement when using it. It stops it working for 7 seconds then switchs off which is where it makes it kindof legal as it has recognised its not your garage doors its open so it switchs off.

Unlike the old jammers that came up JAM on the gun.

It opens the gates so it works very well

i actually like the look of that for it's intended use. i'm hoping to get planning permission for a garage and it would be brilliant to roll up on the bike and have that open up the door so that i can ride straight in.

I heard that they record your number plate if they get that error or think you have jammed it, then if your number comes up again I think they take things further!

I think you'll be ok just using it for the gates/garage door tho

How do you go about fitting one of these (for opening a garage door, not for upsetting plod ), do you remove the orginal catches and rely on the motor to hold the door closed? Would you need two motors for a big door (my garage door is 14' across)?

ya , the motor runs the entire system.it closes the rollor doors and locks closed.you just have to be carefull that you or a passenger doesnt press a button on the remote as you drive away.you will come back and find your garage open and hopfully all your bits intact.

happened me once.pressed the house gates closed but actually opened the garage doors.

Yeah my mum has done that with their door before

Their door was specific to the motor kit and not an add-on kit ie it was never a manual door, hence why I was unsure how you go about modding the original manual door.

Yes they are very good at that also but remember you are buying it to open your gates if asked by the police.

If you converted your manual door to an electric one then the motors hold the door closed. Then when you buy one of these for your car and also you need the other part that would sit somewhere where it can detect the car when you want it to and you wire it into the garage door opener and it will open when you drive up to it.

My friend has it to open his gates and works really well. When guy was out servicing the gates he wired it in for him.
