hi,
i rally an xr3i, the car is a million miles from standard but i have saved the engine till last, im currently only running a standard cvh with a fast road cam. and need more power! the problems i have are; i have a clutch/gearbox drivetrain that cost around 2 grand so i want to keep those, and its a rally car so it cant be turboed. whats the cheapest and most effective power gain, for revs and torque? im thinking just bored out cvh, stage 3 head, wild cam, chip etc as mine may be a bit tired. but i have thought about 2.0 zetec etc but not sure how much power that would gain/cheap tuning etc. suggestions please!!

ST170 duratec engine, 2.0 Silvertop zetec... N/A Cossie engine, Puma Racing engine..... heard before of V6 transplants but very heavy engines and not as tunable as zetec/duratecs etc.

2.0 zetecs a very good one to go for but if you can afford it then 6speed Getrag box and ST170 engine will do you much much more i would reckon

i'd go for the 2.0 duratec mate purely on the weight avings over the zetec, plus there is a throttle body kit on now which wil see you over 200 bhp with no fuss

great 2.0 zetec sounds good, the questions now are: can i use my clutch/flywheel on it? will my id5 cvhh gearbox bolt to it? what power are the 2.0 zetecs standard and the big one, how easy is it. thanks for all the answers in advance!!!
