62 in a 50 zone is nothing in reality...

Take the fine and the 3 points, if your lucky they may offer you a speed awareness course but thats down to their choice not yours.

If they do give you the 3 points mate, i wouldnt worry too much about insurance issues... so many people are getting 3 points now that insurance companies arent too bothered.

take the points and fine ... if it goes to court and you contest it then could be worse with costs etc... i mean if you genuinly did it then just be more carefull. could speak to a soliciter about it and see what they think but recon they will say just pay up ...

Getting points is so easy nowadays. I did 10 years with a clean license, then within 1 month I got 6 points for 2 incidents of speeding. One of those was for doing 36 in a 30 (not happy).

Just ride with it fella and dont let it get you down. Contesting it in court can, as said earlier, get you in more trouble than its worth.

apparently there is a claws,if you send a cheque for Ł65 insted of Ł60 thay have to refund the extra Ł5.once thay have banked that cheque it reads on there comp its is all sorted but will not add on to your points untill you bank the Ł5 cheque,so if you just rip up that cheque you have paid but should have no point.this was what i was told by a friend who is a traffic cop,i cannot garantee but im sure it could be worth a go?????

I dont think that works now because the fines clearly state to send the correct amount. They would probably just send it back to you and then do you for late payment

Dont think you'll get a fixed penalty. If you have received a notice of intended prosicution it means exactly that. You would have received a fixed penalty off the officer.

NIP is a yellow slip and expect a court summons within 6 months. You may be lucky to be able to plead guilty by post. If not it will be crossed out on the form.

You may still get the 3 points and a Ł60 fine in court but you will have to pay for court costs as well, about Ł30.

Looks like the copper did;nt like you very much.

I got 3 points back in january for doing a 42 in a 30. Once you have sent the relevant paperwork they will just send you a form offering the option of a conditional fixed penalty of 3 points and a Ł60 fine or you can take it to court, which as said above could end up with worse.

Just take the 3 points pay the Ł60 and surrender your licence to them mate it wont affect your insurance much as you think
