Default Back in a ford at last - A nice ex-police Escort :D

Picked this little heap up last night for the princly sum of £350

Roof has more holes in it than a swiss cheese, as does the dash

49k miles - probably for the third time

Endura DE engine - I thought that these were first seen in the Focus?

And a sneeky little EGR bypass with a piece of aluminium with no hole as a gasket instead of the steel one with a hole

And finally the best bit of the car, the remains of a gun mount

Not a bad heap for running to work and back, it cost less than a new mirror for the Big5 and drives surprisingly well

Nice little car, for the right price aswell.... I used to have a Escort 1.3 popular on a F plate. the previous owner was northamtonshire constabulary, you wouldnt have known except for the zipper across the headlining.

Are you sure it was for guns and not just for the radio gear?

I'd be really surprised if they used an Escort as an Armed Response Vehicle - A) because it's slow, and B) because it surely isn't very secure to have the guns in a hatchback boot?

Usually ARV's have a proper custom gun safe these days.

Thats probably more likely to be the remains of a racking system for all the gear they carry. Youd be surprised how much shit they keep in the boot of cop cars!!

Most cop cars are chipped or have been played about with.
