I got a K850i phone last night at the last minute for Ł30 delivered, if I post it direct to mazuma mobile I get Ł40

Sometimes its the best way to get a bargain

I do it, I don't understand why more people dont.

If I were to bid early, someone else would bid higher, I'd bid higher again and so on and so on, so the price you would end up paying would be high.

If you wait til the last second then there probbaly be less overall bids, and if you win it, you will win it for less.

I decide on my max bid and sit with the listing in one tab, the confrim bid window in another tab and the time in a last one, usually bid with 5-6 secs left.

as said, people can get into a bidding war and get carried away, that and people have mates bid up items to see what you limit is.

Sure my mate used to bid someone up to see what their max bid was, then pull the bogus bidders bids as 'less than five feedbacks' then would have another mate bid up just under what the initial bidders max was.

Was a few years back, but sure that was what he used to do the dirty little ratter lol!!

thats the thing, sometimes if you leave it till the last minute like everyone else theres a good chance someone will refresh quicker than you or your total wont be enough!

if your willing to pay a set ammount for something then you might win it, leaving it till the last second doesnt make much difference unless you just keep shelling out for the sake of winning said item.

always wait untill the last few seconds too as you can get a bargain.

Won a pair of escos calipers the other week for Ł26 which had new pads which tbh is cheap for them!!!
Only reason i think no1 else bidded on them was cos he said collection early but i had messaged them and asked if they would post if i arranged the courier and he said yea but posted the comment on the action page too so expected more ppl to bid after that.

Only prob i had was the bleed nipples were stuck in but with a bit of gentle persuasion they came out, lick of paint and stick the discs i have kicking about and i bet i could get around the Ł100 mark if i sold them again

Definatly better to bid in the last seconds. Thats the only way to get a real bargain, more often than not. I cant understand why people bid early and just hope for the best.

Catch people off guard by bidding in the dying seconds. Dont even give them chance to consider bidding more than they had in mind.

You enter your max bid and if someone goes higher fair enough and if its less you've got a bargain?

Last second bidding is whats required for not get mugged off soo much on ebay

Bid on something early and theres a high chance of you paying your max price, as the seller can get bids entered to find out what your max is, then retract the bid, or even outbid you, then offer you the favorite line, " second chance offer mate, as the wining bids pulled out"

It doesnt give people chance to increase their max bid. By the time they have decided to go higher, the item has ended. How times have you lost out on something in the last seconds and THEN thought, 'shit, i wish id have bid a bit more for it now'?

bidding at the last minute will not get you that 'bargain' if somebody has previously entered a higher bid. you may as well bid your maximum at the beginning as in an auction situation, no matter how long is left, if there is only one bidder you will get a bargain but not if there's 2 or more

Well there is that, but then thats where you should notice if someone has got a max bid in or not.

But more often than not, you can recognise if someone has a high bid in so can then adjust your technique accordingly.

I love a bit of sniping at the last minute.... Adds to the fun of it all i reckon. It has gone wrong for me in the past tho where i add silly bids at the end just to find someone else has already whacked a silly high bid in and then ofcourse, ive had to pay over the odds. Teach me for being greedy tho eh

Always sweet when selling something on there too... the last few minutes are always good to watch!
