Default Paintless Dent Removal - Recommendations?

Hi,

the other day my car got dinged in the driver's side rear quarter by some old coffin dodger. The dents/dings are very shallow and hardly noticable but they show up against the rest of the car which hasn't got a mark on it. Can anyone recommend me a paintless dent removal company to remove the two dents? I don't mind paying for a top notch job.

Also im not sure if the dents can be removed due to their location close to the B-pillar (see pic below) - does anyone know whether this will impede a repair?

Oh and im in Glasgow, but am prepared to travel across central Scotland.

Cheers,

Agar

I can't recommend anyone as i'm in Kent but i had 2 dents removed the other day, 1 in rear quarter & 1 on front wing that was right on the crease that runs the length of the car. He managed to remove both without removing any trims did it all from the outside took about 40 mins & did a mint job superb i can't even notice where they were. Cost me £75 cash just to give you an idea.

Hi Simon,

sounds like a good job, but was it PDR or were they pulled via being drilled out and filled? Im not too clued up on PDR but I thought they all had to be pushed out from inside the panel?

Cheers,

Only thing I would say is I am not sure how they could get behind the wing to "Massage" the dents out, maybe they have suction cups or something they use to "Pull" the dent out. Price is as Simon says and I think basic call out is £40 you pay additional per dent. Unfortunatly I am not from your area otherwise I would recommend the company round my way, but I have found these around your area for you the first one comes recommended as on the home page:

as long as the inner frame isnt in the area the ding is then it can be done on the boot!!

Not done PDR before but someone at work had it done recently and it it looks alot better than before, not 100% but to most ppl its fine!! May be a problem that close to the pillar like u said but best ppl to speak to is someone who does PDR or have a look on yell.com or google it mate!!

I think, like mine, it will depend on where exactly the dent in the panel is. If there is plenty of space to gain access to the dent from the inside of the panel then I wouldn't think it should be a problem.

Rab - was thinking the same about your car too!

Here are some better pics of the two dents - they were quite difficult to photograph since they are each smaller than a 50 pence piece. They are both about 3cm into the rear quarter panel from where the driver's door join is. Anyone know if it will be fixable or not?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Both them dents will come out mint if you get someone who knows what they are doing. The PDR Tech you get out is going to get access via taking the rear door card out as it looks like the bottom one is to sharp for a glue kit job. Make sure you dont get a lazy / crap tech who will drill (& gromit) through the door shut as it will cause a mess and access will be rubbish (some techs will try this!!!).
I am in the midlands so no chance of me doing it and dont know anyone all that way up but the usual suspects like Dent wizard / Dent Devils might be worth a try. In fact to get a good tech ask your local Merc / BMW / prestige dealers who they use

I would price it as £80 + vat or £80 if you pay cash

Cheers JMC - thats great news. There is no way anyone will be drilling the panel and pulling the dent out. PDR or nothing for me.

Thanks,
Agar

The guy you want to get is Paul Wright. He does all the PDR for most car dealers in Ayrshire. I'm pretty sure the last time I spoke to him, he wasn;t doing private jobs, but it would be worth getting someone from a dealer to get hold of him for you.

I'll have a look for his number but not sure if I'll still have it.

Carlo will probably know him.

Yeah, either way no drilling will be getting done. Perhaps access can be gained from the door shut area by removing the door catch - I'll have to see about this though.

The guy that did mine said he used a glue kit or something to pull out dents (i left him with my car so didn't see exactly but only took 40 mins), i really couldn't believe what a mint job he did all from the outside no drilling or anything just paintless dent removal brilliant. I would deffo use again. Both dents were about 2 inches long quite big.

Simon.

Shite!

Fingers crossed its just missed the strengthener. I thought it would have since surely the strengthener would have made it very difficult to ding the metal? Either that or whoever did it royally fucked thier door off it I've got a picture of the clearance behind a mk4 3dr Golf quarter pannel and it appears ok, but can't be sure without checking for myself - just can't be arsed doing it yet.
