Well they work,....... but by no means the best method,....... or most economical,....... or most friendly to engine,....... or best for performance and drivability,...... but are cheaper than doing it properly,.... so one of those you got to weigh up.

Did tell me Ł225 as it's me, then when got there asked how much he'd quoted me, said I couldn't remember but ended in a 5, so he said Ł175 then.
Gave him Ł180 and was looking for a fiver change, said not to worry

Seems the norm between Ł300-400, not cheap.
If you're spending that dosh think it's only wise to go with one of Stu's, is a known product and bloke.

Im semi tempted to get my 1.8T Audi TT chipped/remapped, allegedly they go from the 225bhp standard to around 260-270bhp with a remap. Dont want to ring up the likes of Stu and ask questions as im not even sure i will go ahead with it yet.

Should do, not that much of an increase.

Old calibra turbo I had went from 200 to 280ish with a chip and bash of fuel regulator.

I had one in a mondeo tdci and it gave about 30 bhp more. Also decreased the fuel consumtion as well and it certainley drove better for it. I do not know what the long term effect would be as I didn't keep it too long.

do you mean that, or do you mean decreased, i.e. more miles per gallon also as well

Oops, I meant to say increased mpg.

Yes, it was about 8 mpg better of, I was getting over 60mpg cruising at 60 on the motorway.

According to computer?
I can't see how car makers who spend billions on making their cars fuel efficient as a selling point could map it so terribly that there's nearly 20% more to be had.
