Its the same for most RS`s I would say for every 3-5 cars scraped 1 is saved.
But for the people who do have good ones they become rarer

I hope you are right mate. I sold a really good Series 1 Escort, and paid a lot of money for a 3 Door, which was known as a good car with a recent engine rebuild. That went tits up and I spent the best part of Ł6000 on a proper engine rebuild. I love the car,and hope to enjoy it for a long time to come. You can keep the M3s, Evos and Subarus , IMO they have no soul. Dont get me wrong, they all do everything to well.!!!!

+1, i had a 3 door 450 bhp and i dont like how they feel on the road. so i choose saphs as 2wd is the only way for me and i like how they drive.

all comes down to money.

no one wants to spend lots of money on their car than when they sell it...lose it all, so rather than lose it they will break it up to recoup money back, most sell the decent shells too and they get built up again, only the rotters die.

How do people i also own a saph ( taxi ) 2wd and it is in need of some tlc the under neath is in a very bad state of repair but i would rather leave it in the garage for a year until i can afford to sort it than break it puts a smile back on me face every time i open the garage door.
p.s. if anyone has or knows of a good shell please let me know lol

my saff isnt the tidest about and ive spent a lot on it making it better and im still spending, but im a fucking hardcore saff owner,my car will not be gettin broke for the sake of money, when i bought it i was realistic about how much it would cost, and cost it will,i never have and never will look to recoup the money, its my hobby spending on it but i fully realised that before i bought it.

The sapph is the best of the lot to drive on the road, a lot more solid, but is the ugly duckling of the bunch.
Also, pmsl @ preston/ny rs spares going on about how little there are left! Stop breaking the fookers then!

escorts look like they have been driven through halfords with evo stick on its panels and every go faster goodie stuck to it

3 doors most are rotten old dogs and the ones that arnt flex badly

saffs are just a 2.0 ghia with a silly engine lol

did i mention im breaking mine https://passionford.com/forum/sin-bin/290559-cossie-carbon-bonnet-carbon-cambelt-covers-ect.html

with thiscurrent climate every thing is so cheap evo's m3's ect why drive a 20+ year old shag heap when you can drive a nice dry reliable car that you can actually do a track day drive it there and back without the aa involved

but back to breaking well the cars are never worth what you spend on them and a cossie is worth fuck all in one piece so you have to rip them to bit to get a return unless ur mad lol

where do you find the cheap rotters of RWD Cossies?

every time i look for one as a donor for my saph build - there are none about.

Ideally I want a rotten car, which runs but is in need of a rebuild

lol, you would be right if i had honed it

fyi, i was never going to strip the engine to bare block again, that decision had already been made, so it was decided it either worked with this hone, or not...

it didnt,no bother it was my choice to try it

and what has any of my choices got to do with you?
