Gents and Ladies

I am considering buying a 2005/06 BMW 535D saloon M sport one

Anyone had/have one thoughst worries etc

they are 286bhp and almost 600lb of torque as std is it worth chipping ??

Is IDrive really as bad as reviews say

What extras are worth having Media pack etc are they all IPOD compatible

Thanks for your help

I don't think there is much difference between the 530 and the 535.

I have heard people say to go for the auto box on the 535 (though that could be utter cobblers )

Ollie I wrote that post blatently with the tone I wasn't that sure what I was on about. It's not like I was trying to decieve him.

Please list me the differences between a 530d engine and a 535d engine then please. Note how I have been polite to you despite your childish rudeness to me.

I believe the 530d is just a standard BMW diesel engine where the 535d is the multi-award winning twin turbo setup.

Here is a good article to explain further about the engine (and as a bonus it mentions the Sierra Cosworth at the beginning)

One has an M57TU the other an M57TU TOP...

squential twin turbos are the obvious difference - there are a few more:

• Exhaust system
• Intake air control
• Pistons and connecting rods
• Camshafts
• Belt drive
• Reduced compression ratio
• Increased fuel injector cross section
• Digital diesel electronics DDE 606
