I don't think there is much difference between the 530 and the 535.

I have heard people say to go for the auto box on the 535 (though that could be utter cobblers )

Ollie I wrote that post blatently with the tone I wasn't that sure what I was on about. It's not like I was trying to decieve him.

Please list me the differences between a 530d engine and a 535d engine then please. Note how I have been polite to you despite your childish rudeness to me.

I believe the 530d is just a standard BMW diesel engine where the 535d is the multi-award winning twin turbo setup.

Here is a good article to explain further about the engine (and as a bonus it mentions the Sierra Cosworth at the beginning)

One has twice as many turbo's as the other

panelbeater 27-03-2009 02:22 PM

yeah there ok repaired many of them!

timrud 27-03-2009 02:23 PM

What size are they in comparison?

AlexF 27-03-2009 02:24 PM

One has an M57TU the other an M57TU TOP...

squential twin turbos are the obvious difference - there are a few more:

• Exhaust system
• Intake air control
• Pistons and connecting rods
• Camshafts
• Belt drive
• Reduced compression ratio
• Increased fuel injector cross section
• Digital diesel electronics DDE 606
