jus incase u didnt know (if this RST S1/S2 car is running original KE jetronic system)
The tps on this car is only 2 micro switches. (you can hear them click)
So the fuel ecu, knows when idle or full load is being demanded.
It is NOT a variable resistor type as per cossie ... etc...

would the problem be with my fuel ecu cos the problem has got worse over time

With it NOT connected, the FUEL ecu thinks you are in part load.
I.E Not idle and NOT full load.
On most ecu's, extra fuel is only added for high boost conditions when the throttle is fully opened.
Not having this extra enrichment particularly when tuned beyond its original power level,
the tuner may be relying on this enrichment to get the AFR correct so preventing melt down.
I may be wrong but to me, it sounds like you have other issues with the car and it may not be the TPS sensor !!

ive got it booked in at the tuner near me dartford tunning people round my way have said there good all i want for the mo is for it to run rite then when i get it chipped i will venture up north to the big tuners lol
dave1982rst, If you have changed the engine spec but NOT the fuelling this
could be your problem. Too lean under load !
A chipped ignition ecu (silver box) will NOT adjust the fuelling !
As vroooom ptssssh, says get it checked out/set up properly -

would that make it cut out tho like it is
its doing it on normal driving not just on full load even pulling away like a grand dad taking my time it still does it
and i reved it on the spot up to 4k and let off the put throttle bk down and nothign till the revs died to 1k then it reved again
so it mite not be the tps sensor fecking up then
