Dash light on a saff cosworth..what is it?

Default Dash light on a saff cosworth..what is it?

The display where it shows if any doors are open etc.... I had a yellow/orange star like symbol come on which is displayed at the top left!! went off after a few mins.....Any ideas what this is?

mine does the same,its something to do with the heat outside being warm,if you fire it up and go for a quick run on a winters night it'll show a blue or red star for it being icy iirc

There is a red one too that comes on at different temps to warn of ice, the top left, yellow one comes on at +4C, the one to the top right which is RED comes on at 0C .

The whole of the symbols on mine go off when its cold,i think i must have a poor connection somewhere.

The yellow means its cold outside drive with caution
The red one means its friggin cold don't drive like a lunatic

Great that's another electrical problem my car has, these lights don't appear to work on mine.

Would anyone know where a wiring diagram is for these, I've tried looking in Haynes under Ghire models from a simliar year but had no luck...

they have their own ecu mate, there is a little sender under the front chassis crossmember under the driver side headlight that holds the sender

basicly if it's between 1-4 degrees outside the yellow light will come on
if it's 0 or under, the red light comes on
it's a snowflake to remind you that it could be icy outside and is on virtually every ford i've seen over the past 25-30 years of a high enough spec
