Default Wheely Bins

Are they worth anything?

Had our fourth nicked the other night along with five others on the street, a white van turned up picked them up and gone never to be seen again. Are they worth anything?

But why?

NOTE
This is not a "how much is it worth or for sale thread"

The dust bin lorry ate ours a few months back, we got a nice new one!

They dont mind giving new ones out but you are only allowed one per household otherwise, its all worked out on council tax amounts etc!

I live in a house split into two flats, with no gardens, so essentially two households. We get a green bin, a blue bin and a black bin. Green for gardening waste, blue for recyclable plastic / metal, and black for general waste. Twice.

So thats 6 bins in my very limited front yard Fuckin council.......

never had the bins itself nicked but a few months ago it was common to see tonnes of them without wheels!

must just be pikeys nicking them for the local sites so they can save cash...like they need to at that!

not unless there nicking them so they can have 2 themselves - and put them out on the street to get em emptied, gives them a nice half dozen for the ones that dont get returned - never had mine stolen - but filled by local scum

we lock ours round the back now to prevent that!

I found it.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/wheely-bin_W0Q...1%7C240%3A1318

LOL. I guess quite a lot of people want more than one, and those blokes selling them at a tenner a time or something are making easy money.

our council wont give us an extra one and there are 5 of us in our house, we have a green for food waste, brown for garden waste, blue box for tins and bottles, white bag for plastics and blue bag for paper

we recycle everything too and the standard bin is still full ( we only get fortnightly refuse collections grrrr )

Typical jobsworths. Mine won't collect unless it's in a black bag. If I put a white bin liner out they won't even take it. What fucking difference it makes I have no idea.

They will not take rubbish thats not in a wheely bin decause they are not allowed to lift them, or thats the excuss the bin man gave to my mum when she asked why the walked past the bag. She picked it up herself and lobbed it in the back of the lorry

they want to start charging 50 quid a bin in cov lol!!

People will nick them to use for themselves. Had one of ours go missing, then it turned up a few weeks later after they had finished with it.

Green ones get nicked to see if there are any bank / personal details in them. Mum had hers nicked a few weeks ago, but then next door neightbours was left there, and they were right beside each other.

Had ours stolen and the Council said I had to go on a waiting list. 4 days later it was up against my back gate?

odd, it must have ran away from home and come back when it was hungry

Definately reckon its for someone to use for themselves. Theres 5 of us in our house with the 2 bins, one recycle one anything goes. Were on two weekly emptying and with 3 kids that just isnt practicle! It fucking stinks after 7 days and gets full round about then too. I asked council for a larger general bin, dont do them was there response. Its a joke. All i do now is burn everything, ive got an old oil drum in the back yard and I put everything and anything in it and have a fire once a week. Put the ashes in the general bin and problem solved. They wont take anything thats not in the bin but the sponging work shy twats over the road just chuck everything onto the path outside the house and the council take it away!!! Country has gone mad. Back to original post, I would myself consider borrowing someone elses bin so my kids dont have to hold my hand whilst I stand in the bin trying to compact everything in but havent got around to it yet. Wonder if they nick them to swap with dirty ones so they can just swap them and say they've cleaned them to them that pay for them jet washing and shit rather than actually doing it???

If they are refusing to remove the black bin bags as the wheely bin has been stolen then report them to environmental health for causing a health hazard I had this problem as my house had been empty from before they introduced wheely bins.

One complaint to environmental health and a tipper transit (used for litter bin emptying round here) turned up later in the day to take my black bin bags
