1) There is one spinning class and everyone works at their own pace. most of the spinning session I've seen at my gym work like this. You do have to know however, the different positions. So when they say "Crouching tiger maximum attack" you need to know what it is.
2) There are different levels depending on experience. I'm sure there is probably a beginners class. Also, the instructors are paid to give you advice and help you. Don't be afraid to ask them. That's what they are there for. I think with Fitness First you can also get your own personal trainer that will work with you and tailor a program around your aims.
Good luck!

For Sale..Apply within.
I do go to a gym Maria...not that you'd guess by looking at me!
The one I go to is right good...one of those Bannatyne larks.
Properly good staff, good equipment (they have a couple of those new celeb fad power plates - they HURT) good classes (Lots of Les Mills types - Body Pump, Body Combat) and most importantly...swimmingpool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.
Sis and I went tonight while the football was on and I did half our each on bike and Cross Trainer.
I try not to stick to the same thing all the time and aim for an hour cardio 3 or 4 times a week.

I found cycling bloody hard this morning when I had to bike to the stables at 6:30 as the Skoda is in for service - a slight incline was enough to make the going tough

i dont like using gyms such as fitness first, or david lyodd etc...
full of posers i think lol
i go to a gym in liverpool which is full of big meatheads and is rough as fook. no women go in it only fella's.
am a streak of piss, about 11 stone, not into the whole bodybuilding thing, everybody else is in there, but they all go there for one thing. just plainly to train, there is the gym downstairs, cardio stuff upstairs, bag room. has everything i want, never waiting for machines or free weights. sell protien drinks and everything in there so am happy as larry.
rough and ready but it more than does the job.
i do miss going swimming though!! love it.

Well as most of you know i practically passed out on my first session!
Well today i got measured etc etc
I am 59kg and apparently for my height and my waist measurement, i should only be between 52 and 56kg So im overweight!
Also
For my age, height, waist etc my body fat should be between 22 and 26%, and i have 28% body fat!
So im overweight AND fat!
So, after being told that, i got on the cross trainer, managed to do 15 minutes at a fair rate, and with a decent resistance, then 10 minutes on the bike and then 10 minutes on the rower!
I made sure i ate properly throughout the day, and also kept my fluids up! I ate a banana and 12 grapes before i went in, and i felt fine! not light headed at all!! So, all in all, im fat, but at least i didnt black out this time!

Yesterday wasn't a disaster, it was a start. You've proved today how much better you were with a little preparation. Just set yourself realistic goals and you'll be fine.

Fuckin ell M ur far from fat lol, like i always say dont need too loose weight just tone up lol, you'll find that when u tone up muscle is heavy aswell anyway so tbh as good as it is too keep an eye on things ie weight etc its more important to concentrate on lasting longer on the machines and building fitness rather than how much u loose each week etc used 2 love the rowing machine!! tempted to buy one for home as it does most of the muscle groups!!
You'll be pushing 60kg weights in no time!!

dont pay any attention to what they say you should be, they said for my height 5,11 i should be 11.6 when in fact im 14.4. 14.4 is a healthy size, 11.6 would be annorexic.

@ Rudey.
M, you'll probably be amazed how much difference just a tiny ickle bit of exercise will do. Just go easy on the weights though, we don't want you looking all butch.
