That's me after having my right leg amputated below the knee on 4th August last year....was up and walking 2 weeks later. Had excellent treatment and lots of rehab at Headley Court (Military rehab near Epsom).

Why did you need amputation? Lees mum healed perfectly after hers i must say!
Not lost it just exchanged it for one that works....Lol

I fractured my heel bone 3 years ago and had it wired together...never really healed properly and then had a calcanectomy ( removal of part of the heel) after getting MRSA in hospital it started to go down hill. Spent 7 months in hospital and then whenI got out the leg was so weak I had an ankle fracture followed by a lower leg fracture. After that my right leg was 3 cm shorter than my left, ended up on crutches for months and then when I did start walking again the difference in length made my knee, hip and back hurt. I spoke to my surgeon who wanted to do more surgery over three more years and I wasn't having that....so I told him to take it off....and here we are now. Still in the Army, have my life back and still driving manual cars and riding my Ducati !!!!!! But apart from that I'm Ok

A bit extreme I know but the best decision of me....up and walking in 2 weeks .....with out crutches 2 weeks after that. Obviously not easy by any stretch of the imagination but I think being in the Army helped lots....we just get on with stuff no matter what.
