What is it in Latin? "Buyer Beware" not "Seller Be Wary of Fucktards"

As I stated earlier I would probably give him his money back just to not have any aggro. I'm too old for that shit now and it just isn't worth all the hassle.

Personally, curiousity would have lead me to ask the guy a bit about his car when he was buying said manifold. Just as an enthusiast with an interest in cars, fair enough he should have asked you about/researched the manifold but it sounds like refunding him minus a fee for yourself is the best way, it just isn't worth the aggro.

Even his mate 'jamie v1' advised him to sell it on and recoup the money for a new standard manifold.

BTW I'm always relaxed.

I'm assuming that this is the same fella, can't be 100% although he fits the bill.

Link below in a nutshell:

T2Dex buys plasma tv
> while he waits for the tv to arrive he asks about it on internet forums
> from the feedback he finds out he's bought a load of shite
> contemplates returning plasma tv to curries before even opening the box (using poor feedback from total strangers as an excuse)
> Hooks up the tv once he recieves it and is over the moon with his purchase.

I have been on the fence over Red16's problem with this guy. I'd of probably given him his money back as it could be understood that this was a one off and he didn't know much about cars.
After finding this link (I know it might not be him, but hey) it goes to show that he buys most things spur of the moment because they look shiney and cheap without knowing anything about them.

1) Plasma Tv's (cheap and shiney)
2) Citreon Picasso's (shiney)
3) Aftermarket manifolds (cheap and shiney)

I'm seeing a trend... should there be a new thread of T2Dex's bungled buys?

Dex is having problems transferring his Tiger Woods 07 Master status character to the new TW09.
After consulting an internet forum he has found out this cannot be done......

I wonder if his copy of TW09 is heading back to the store so he can claim a refund.

I can actually see both sides to this so i think both of you are partly to blame in my opinion mate. He should have asked if it would fit his car and you should have said it wouldnt really, or mentioned that its to fit a different turbo.

Id just refund him mate and stick it on ebay. Its not worth the hassle for the sake of Ł120, especially when he knows where you live and could easily cause you more hassle if you tell him to shove it, even if he is acting like a cock.

was it an xs-power manifold? i recognise the welds lol

di you actually use it on your car with no issues? im asking as i have an XS manifold, not for an evo5, but for a s14 200sx, thats now on my zetec lol

as for the fucktard that bought it, i hed come back to me asking for a refund, he would have got no money, but walked away with a limp with half of it sticking out his arsehole

some people should stay the fuck away from buying things off the net/things they dont have a fucking clue about lol

I agree. It would of took ten seconds to explain, and you would have saved all the hassle.

Sorry, Red has done NOTHING wrong, why the fuck should he babysit for a complete fucktard? Anyone who thinks different must be on crack!! If he wanted to refund it would be out of sympathy, he has NO reason at all to feel bad. Anyone over the age of 5 could see that was an external wastegate manifold

So when looking for a product, you know exactly what it is you need, what will fit and what won't? I think most adverts would describe what it's suitable for.

I don't see your point here? do you do 5 hours research before you go to sainsburys and buy banana's? Do you get questioned by the checkout staff asking that you are SURE you know what to do with them??

[quote=Chip;3977375]I would assume if he was buying an external wastegate manifold, that he was also buying an external wastegate turbo from someone!

Why on earth would you buy one otherwise?

If I sell someone a telly, I assume they know it needs to be in a house with some electric and an aerial.

Chip that is totally unfair. some people dont know one end of a screw driver from another, assumption will make an ass out of you and me,

By making small talk witg him Red16 you would have found out weather it he realised it would or would not fit.

no, not at all, but i know sure as shit that i WILL make sure i know what i need before i part with my hard earned!

i wnet into my local hydraulics place recently with the brake cylinders for the bias pedal box, to buy all the fittings a hose etc i needed to plumb in the complete braking system for my 3dr.

i didnt know what the fuck sizes i needed, and tbh, the bloke behind the counter didnt either, as they dont usually do car stuff. he then measured the thread etc and told me what size it all was.

i then went to a motorsports parts place, who had all the bits i needed in stock. so i bought Ł400 worth of bits. and then took back the bits i over calculated for and got a Ł60 refund.

but hey, i had a receipt

I cant see the problem. As some have said, you might have dropped a line to say its an external wastegate manifold but he seemed happy to part his cash so not your problem.

The fact that people are saying, just give him the cash to save hassle does my nut in

Why should you mate?

I dont want to sound like a twat, but if he came back to my door i`d tell him nice and politley, you bought it mate, deal with it.

If he threatened me at my own door for Ł120 he`s obviously not worth a fuck, and i`d end up saying a few choice words of my own to make it clear that i wouldnt take his shite, and if he wanted to say something of it then do it, where he stands.

Pretty school boyish but i wouldnt have some tit at my door spouting threats over Ł120 which was also his own mistake.

Either way mate i hope you get it sorted without the handbags

I think if I were in Reds shoes, I would have been happy to give a refund if the guy had come back to me and said somthing like:

"Mate, i'm really sorry, I bought this thinking it was a direct fitment, but I didn't realize I needed lots of other work to fit it, any chance of you doing me a massive favour and having it back, and I will sort a drink out for you"

Instead of that, he coming back shouting his mouth off etc, it just makes you think fuck him, his own fault for A)being fucking stupid, and B) being a Cunt.

Mate - I think you hit it on the head. The guy should have taken a deep breath before phoning back to speak to Red. Said something like have written above and I personally would have given him his money back.

But if you dont know, then ASK for info, or dont spend your money.

Dont buy something giving no hint you are a complete fucking retard, then complain afterwards that the person overestimated you.

Make sure your car is out of sight mate! He sounds like the kind of guy that will come back and take it out on it, going by what he's said. This is why id have just given him the money back for the sake of Ł120, regardless of whose in the right/wrong, its just not worth the hassle and listening out for every little noise outside wondering if/when something will happen. Hope it all works out ok though mate.
