a trader mate of mine went to buy a mk2 rs2000 when he arrived at the address a bloke about 75!!! opened up the garage to take a look at the car(which was a 1 owner 8000 miler!!) the amazing site that greeted him was above the rs2 was a mk2 rs1800 he said the underneath was as clean as the body! yep the old fella had a 4 poster ramp in his garage

I went into a little back street garage about 2 years ago and noticed a mk1 on a 4 poster after asking the guy about it he said it was his car that he had owned for about 15 years . ........................It was a RS1600 that had a wilcox engine in it never been welded and was in a dark blue colour . He then showed the reg doc and it was once owned by the MET hence the colour . Cracking little car .

 

pulled up to tescos one day! to see an escort parked in the recycling bay!

pulled in and asked the old dear how much she wanted for it! (she was about 75-80) and she said she wasnt sure, come back later!
i went round and bought it,
she only wanted 50quid! so i gave her all i had on me at the time which was 65!
she gave me this wedge of receipts and mots, inside which is the the purchase order and original receipt!

may not be an rs1800 or a 1600 but still she's now mine!

 

hi mate,no rs northwest was in the centre of wigan near gordon ford garage (not gordon ford now)nr the pier
i know of fast lane sports cars used to be in standish in the 80,s and early 90,s used to have an rs200 in and numerous rs,s ranging from mk1 rs2000- cosworths,then it shut and the guys ,sales went there different ways,i think fast lane went into liquidation as it shut down all cars gone overnight????
i know and have dealt with ron hodgson whom was a sales man there and still is a car dealer in performance and luxury cars,there used to be about 4 or 5 hi performance garages under 1 roof in adlington nr chorley,once saw 3 series ones there ,just guys looking at cars for sale was an amazing sight seeing all three following each other on the road!

i know of a cavalier calbire(sp) rotting away on someones drive, ive spoke to the onwer and he showed me the engine and said it was some special swindon race engine, dont know how true it was but it a redtop with the exhaust was facing the baulk head with what looks like twin 40s facing the rad.

The old mans been doing the gardening for some old lady. Back garden hasn't been done for years so really overgrown as he cut back all the weeds & grass he discovered a mk1 rs capri.
Apparently belonged to her husband who'd died some years ago & she just never got round to selling it.
