Default hesitation ........*updated, stu etc????*

time to sort all the little probs out once and for all on the 3dr............

hesitation on part throttle, accelerating (as i press pedal) and as i back off, seem to remember it was prob a throttle position sensor prob, is that sound right? different ecu, chip, turbo, injectors etc now so say so as not much else left lol

anyone confirm that this is the area of the problem and can it be cleaned or is that just a wives tale think was talkin to stu along time ago about it and he did say a sensor made in 1987 wont still be feeling happy

sounds like it could be the prob to me. Easy way to test it.. find the pin on the ECU for the TPS and with the ignition on slowly open the throttle and make sure the voltage increses by .1volt increments and doesn't drop out to 0volts! And in my case closed throttle was 0.4volts and fully open throttle was 4volts!

i had this problem and i tried 3 different TPS's coz i'm too miserable to buy a new one!

if you can't find the pin on the ECU i think it's the middle wire coming from the TPS!

hope taht helps a bit

Its far more commonly a problem with the chip on greys, so if youve fitted greys now, id be looking in that area for mega leaness and transient fuel problems.

5 Mins on teh pectel monitor at mine will ascertain if your TPS is ok though

2wd and 4wd sensors work the oposite way round thats why

one goes from 0 to 5 some from 5 to 0

dont worry (unless you're using the wrong type, which is unlikely, you'd fookin well notice! )
