Pectel T2 cooling fan output, anyone used this with success??
Im struggling with getting the T2 ECU to control the cooling fan on my yellow MG, the output should give an earth when the fan is required to run but it's giving an earth all the time... Anyone had this problem??

I know the WI has more parameters telling it when to go on and off but the net result of the pin going to ground is the same? Mine was the same problem but not going to earth on trigger.

Martin, how do you know its giving out an earth all the time ?
Depending on how you are measuring it.......
I say this as its an "open collector" output and will measure nothing when on or off with respect to ground without a proper load.
You need to provide a power source for it via a relay coil that has its other connection tied to +12 volts.
Make sense ?

Have been told that it's possible that the channel I'm using has been configured at the factory for tacho output and isn't user configurable even though it allows me to do so in descpro Am going to see if the rev counter works off it later today.

I think there are a few hard coded bits depending what the ECU was made for originally. My T6 has a hardcoded 10K rev limit which of course doesnt cause me issues but could have been a pain trying to diagnose and fix if you did need to go above that!
I assume that all this hard work means your going to make it to Bedford in the MG then Martin?

Ahh. Come on! You have a rolling road and the morning at Bedford to do that!
Lee's Westy and my RS are far from ready for Friday but we will make it!
Take the Escort which is what everyone really wants to see and just be gentle on certain areas of the track?
