engine block paint removal?? whats best?

im after getting the engine out of my rs2k to rebuild it and the block has been very poorly painted red! whats the best stuff/way of removing the paint and what is the best paint to buy to redo? was thinking of gold but your opinions please! the car is radiant red! cheers

get it acid dipped mate. would mean completely stripping the engine but it's the only way i can see you'll clean it well enough to make a decent job of it next time around.

as john said, acid dipped - most engineering compaines will have a tank to do it in. just look in yellow pages and ring a few

most will do it on the side for a few beer tokens
