hi all is it possible to bore a 1.8 zetec block to fit the c20 let pistons(calibre turbo pistons) or do you need to start with a 2.0 zetec block? cheers in advance steve
oh right thought they were the c20let one's so bet they will want a mil skimming of them then didnt think you could bore a 1.8 block that far but looks like i was wrong?

it can be done but it is easyer to just start with a 2.0 zetec from the start as for the head gasket just use one from a 53 plate focous me and my mates all use this head gasket with out fail its cheeper than a focous rs one im prity sure as well. will hold up to 400bhp some people have tested
with a 1.8 zvh conversion you can use the standard cvh turbo head gasket as the boar size is very simular but when building a 2.0/2.1 the standard gasket will over lap the boar as its 86mm so you will have to have the back of the head built up and then skimmed flat so you can use a focous head gasket if you dont have the head built up it will leave one of the water ways exposed and give you a water leak. OR if you want to use a standard head with a 2.0 bottom end you will need to use this head gasket
No, it's a very bad idea. Ford changed the block to go from a 80.6mm to 84.8mm bore as they considered the block requiring more strength, and with only 136hp!!.. a 5.4mm over-bore is a no-no..
