Don't panic too much mate and try to keep her calm. Resort to txt messages instead of calling (Unless she has a car phone charger) as it will pass more time sending messages.
Make her laugh if you can (Not good till she's had a wee) by saying I just saw you on the news. You can't park properly or something like that. It will calm her down and ease her worry.
I would be driving as close as I can without using the same road and walking the rest of the distance. Atleast she knows your on way to help, which will again calm her down and ease her worry. Take a sandwich, warm tea and some petrol if ya can.
Good luck mate Hope she gets sorted asap.

Not good at all mate
I very nearly ended up stuck on sunday night, and wasnt relishing a night in the car as I had the fuel light on too, so no chance of running the engine for very long if I was so I kept switching it off when traffic wasnt moving and it was fucking scarey how quickly the car got cold, so its a bloody good job she has a blanket.
Hope she manages to cope ok, going to be a fucking long night for both of you, you must feel properly helpless which is never nice!

right..
local radio just announced to them that rescue is starting from the top of the hill, and working its way down.
my mrs is just over half way down, so a couple of hours and she will be taken to a warm hall for the night..

it'll take at least 3 hours to walk that in snow and they'll have her out by then, its all over all the news channels now so they'll been told to pull their fingers out!! if she sarts panicing or runs out of fuel ring me and we'll wing it and see how close we can get.

i don't agree with chip but like he says its his opinion. its up to you what you want to do,if she sounds fine on the phone i would stay at home and phone her often,if she is a bit upset i would go,but thats me.

Bollocks to that, would be well into the early hours of the moring before he got there in those conditions and he'd be putting himself at risk.

To be honest, id sacrifice wlaking in the cold for a couple of hours without doubt if it means she will have even a couple of hours in better/warmer conditions. Its not going to kill you if you wrap up well and go for it.
