I remember a lad on here had a mint saph cossie rep that was stolen and burnt out, plenty of pics too. I'll see if I can find it.

My uncle bought a brand new Orion 1.6i ghia back in '89 and it was nicked when only a couple of months old. It was found near Leeds Bradford airport half stripped but undamaged so the insurance company rebuilt it. No pics of that I'm afraid.

my old work used to do hire drive as well
among our fleet of vans was a r reg transit(was a few years ago now)
it got hired out and never got returned
turned out it had been hired with false id so obviously a set up, so reported as stolen,
insurance was never claimed as it was due to go to auction soon anyhow
never seen or heard of for over a year, then 1 day out the blue
we get a phone call from police at dover saying they've recovered our van
a driver was sent down and brought it back for us
came back with nearly 10k mikes done on it, still all sign written up with the hire drive stuff, still got original plates on it, inside was a big pile of ferry reciepts for dover-calais
looks like it had been getting used for fag runs, blatent stolen, and never noticed
it was running fine and drove back to glasgow no prob
we just put it to auction
but just goes to show that there is stolen vehicles out there running around un noticed

My first car was a Mk2 Escort and it was stolen from outside the house one night.

Cops were supposed to be on the lookout, but every cop who drove in or out of Police HQ in Livingston for a week managed to drive past it in full view of the road, parked on a building site.

Eventually, one of the workies asked another to shift "his" car and then discovered a card with my girlfriends name and address on it. They called home and her mum and dad collected it for me - the spare key for his company Cortina fitted the locks in my Escort.

They stole the shitty Audioline radio cassette that was in it when I bought it, and the only damage done was the centre console they destroyed getting the stereo out. The replacement console cost more than the stereo was worth - but if the daft wanks had opened the boot, I had a new stereo, graphic equaliser, speakers, and CB in there ready to fit!

Had my Xr3Ti stolen Feb 2003, had a turbo conversion done by a guy in langley(soon after, found out he was a well known car thief), a week later i woke up to find it had been stolen. hmmm makes me wonder.... it was never found either meaning the shell probably ended up in his mates scrappy!!

but also

A guy i know, the same night he had his white rst stolen and this was used in a attempted car theft of a scooby.

Another guy i know, the same night had his minivan stolen that was used in a ram raid.

I was thinking ram raid with the minivan, escorts as getaway cars??

so who knows for sure what happened... but its been 5 years!!

so i guess they trashed it to get back at him when they found out it only had body kit bits rather than loads more valuable bits. Fucking scum arent they.

I dont get why we bother rehabilitating these scum any more. We really need a 3 strikes policy like in the states. At least the fuckers would eventually get 15-20 if they dont change.

Before....

and after... the thieves were caught by a traffic warden parked outside Halford in Bridlington...... they'd run out of wet and dry and he copped for the dodgy tax disc they were using... apparently my car had been stolen by a bloke who was trying to replace the one his girlfriend had written off whilst her parents were away on holiday.... They were rubbing it down to re-spray it a slightly different shade of racing green.....

I had an escort cab nicked 2 months after putting 17's on it.
They took it about 4 miles away, took the alloys off, took all me cd's, auto glym polish's that id left in it, even took air freshners!!!
Body wise, it was fine except a slash in the roof and a broken window. Inside it was ok except the steering column. Insurance wrote it off because of the damage done underneath when they let it drop to the floor.
Only got a before pic;

The police came round after and asked if the door was like that, me and my mate said 'it was all loose so we gave it a tug' and then tugged it to demonstrate and it collasped completely straight on the floor in front of us.

Police just looked at us and said 'oh well'.

No it wasnt in Blacon, but i have seen the one you're prob thinking of up near wordsworth cres/square.

It had an alarm fitted but it would only activate if u locked it from the passenger door, and i didnt bother doing that.

Had an amusing near miss with a Mk2 Golf I had - It got broken into in a notoriously bad carpark in Bath and it had loads of stereo gear in it and lots of nickable bits - But it also had a pair of inflated blow-up dolls in the boot, one male, one female (for a photoshoot which never actually made it into the mag) When they prised the boot open 'Oral Annie' and 'Anal Archie' must have popped out scaring them to death! Rather than be seen getting them out of the boot, they simply closed it back up and left!

So sod your fancy alarms, just get some blow up dolls!!!
