peugeot 406 diesel on a P plate

its got that keypad with number on to allow the car to start -

does anyone know what the keypad does to prevent the car from stating? does it cut fuel? stop pump? stop spark

does anyone know if you can by pass it?

edit: the key pad number is known but it does not work; the red light just flashes

Matt

if petrol you will have to pay for the bypass box/ pay someone to decode etc, if diesel i expect you will be able to do it yourself with a new stop solonoid on pump and maybe a new starter wire

as above; its diesel

so the keypad controls the pump and that's all?

normally with diesels, older ones like that yes, with a diesel engine its the stop solonoid that enables the engine to run / not run, and of course a starter to turn it over, on the pump look for the solonoid and see what wires are going to it, it will need a ign live feed, sometimes you have to put a new solonoid on with a single wire, solonoids are only about £15

i know this isn't gonna help but just in case somebody reads this etc
with this type of immobiliser, if you cant be arsed typing in the code or want to bypass it,
if you know the code type it in, then when the green light comes on just pull the plug out the back of it and hey presto no more immobiliser
its no use here csause you need to put the code in then green light on for it to work
sounds daft i know but trust me it works
