the 4,5,6 all use the same body shell (and interior - just different colour schemes )., but the 5 and 6 used wider front arches and arch extension on the back. it was the same engine in each, but with slight mods like different pistons, differnet oil cooling galleriies, different rate springs, the 5 and 6 used 17" wheels as std whereas the 4 had only 16", they all produced the same power roughtly, but each revision gave a couple more ft/lb torque. the most sorted one of the lot is the 6 and if u were goingo t go for one, id go for a 6 again over a more modern looking 7. all 4,5,6 GSR models use the AYC, but the one in the 4 was effectively version 1.0 and not as good as the others, but again with hindsight, id go for a RS or RSX over a GSR now as the AYC diff needs new oil every 4.5K miles and to be done at a specialist which is a bugger.

Phil,
What Dave said .

I would also go for the RSX model - this is the Sprint version, but with creature comforts (air-con and leccy windows etc + available in silver (the best Evo 6 colour)). Mind you, you might find the steering a bit to direct for the non-track driving philistine that you are (1.6 turns lock to lock ).

TME for sure

Mike..Silver

You can tell the steering was weird, especially at high speeds, even as a passenger. I was shitting a brick when I went out in AJ's when the speed built up

Phil,
I can assure you the Sapphire will be up for sale quicker than you can say "I want an Evo 6" .

And of course silver ones look poo . You have absolutely NO taste .

Kills a Scooby and Skyline on the track. Skyline is much more refined for normal road use. I'd rather have the Evo from a running costs / cost of urpgrades point of view.

You'd have to add £1.5k to your budget to afford the above car, as it is a TME version .

Might want to watch this if youd like to see how fast an EVO is on a track...

http://www.exvitermini.com/movies1104/JUNEVO5.wmv

The answer is incredibly, lol

Thats a tuned EVO5 by the way, and i prefer EVO5s myself, nicer front bumper, lol

Mike/Phil,

thats my evo.....drool

wish i had it back. Silver can look the bolx as long as the wheels n flaps are all good

The steering is awesome on the car.

Cola,

it was a borrowed crash helmet and far too wee. Forehead had massive red band across it afterwards... but hey ho!

Wish I had my evo back

the TME is a 6, called the 6.5 by some, but still a 6 with a few cosmetic bits, if you could have the TME steering rack which is even quicker than the normal gsr and the gsr turbo, then your talking
