Doug, one of his other toys is a Ferrari 348, so you too would get on well!

And before someone starts all the jealous "rich coont" type posts, he isnt, he's just a really hardcore petrol head who spends almost all his disposable income on cars and racing, actually i think sometimes far more than his disposable income

I worked with him for a couple of years at toyota, and he is a really nice down to earth bloke

He races in the autoitalia series as well, and is evilly quick in a go kart cause he is a midget, lol

Chip,

Were those pics taken at the Brooklands (near Weybridge) Italian Car weekend???

If so, was it last year or a few years ago? Only ask because I was there the year before last but did'nt notice that Y10

Wow!

Truely amazing stuff! I love seeing how these builds take shape too. Amazing to see the car coming together.

Reminds me - Chip, hows your monster Mini project coming along? Remember seeing build pics from that a while ago and it was very interesting.

Steve, i dry built the engine the other day to check the compression ratio (came out as 8.14, which is spot on what i was aiming for) so now ive just got to assemble the engine really as all the machining etc has been done.

Then the engine will just sit for about a year till i get round to doing the shell, as ive got my nova and integra to finnish first.

No he isnt into 'rods in the slightest, he is just mad on Y10's in particular and italian cars in general.

He decided he would build the ultimate roadgoing Y10, and i must say that for once with an "ultimate...." project i think he can safely say he genuinely has!

Most of the work was contracted out on this car though, although he does work on his own cars, he simply didnt have the time/skills to do this project to the standard that he wanted it done to, so turned to people who could.

Much like most of the members of this forum with really awesome cars i beleive?
ie porky/rod/doug etc

I think the main reason it took about 4 years to build was that was the fastest rate at which he could spare funds for it.
