5 Studs on my 4x4 saff? can it be done????
Just heard of a set of RL7's in 17's for sale, just what I want at a good price.
Trouble is they are ford 5 stud fitment is there any way of making them fit my saff?? I know you can use granada hubs but is this only for rwd cars??
what about using the new mondeo ST front hubs as they have good brakes too??
anyone???
o, and how much?? lol

Dom,
You really are more stupid than a stupid thing on stupid day at stupid hour . Anything is possible, but at what cost ?
1. It will cost more than the wheels are worth (and more than a set of 17/18s that would bolt straight on ).
2. These wheels are currently still out of production, so what happens when you curb them or buckle one - you're fucked .
3. APMLOL at the thought of Mondeo ST brakes being up to the job of stopping a 430bhp Sapphire .
Stop being a dreamer, put your hand in your pocket and buy some proper wheels and brakes suitable for a car of that power .

Mike. I have thought about that. that is also my question can they be made to fit??
put it this way, if this guy is talkin right I can get these wheels cheaper than what they usually cost for 1
If its lots of effort I'll just laugh it

If they have high ET you can probably use special distance things with another set of wheel studs in them but it's really amateur way to do it.

Dom,
Sometimes I wonder why I bother, I should just let you go ahead with your stupid ideas and then just laugh at you afterwards when it ends up costing you twice as much as what you hoped as well as leaving you up shit creek with 3 wheels and the having to revert back to original when you damage one .

Mike -
ok, I'll forget it.
What are the best brakes I could get under my wheels??
not that it matters until that damper turns up Incidently, is it safe, if Harvey has space, to book my car in for next monday or tuesday? Will the damper deffo all be with me by then??

My mate has converted his Sapphy to five stud, he used a Granada back axle and Granada front hubs as well. He said it was summat to do with the granada back axle being stronger. he bought a complete granny Cossie for about £100, used all the parts and sold the leather, engine wheels etc.
he said it was pretty easy to do, can find out more if you like mate?

Dom,
Before you go wasting people's time, don't you think you should confirm that these 5-stud wheels are the same PCD as a Granada? Otherwise you'll have people running round trying to help you and then you'll be telling them it is a different PCD so won't fit, so their effort was wasted .
All you need to know at this stage is that it IS possible to fit 5-stud Granada hubs . Now you need to know if the wheels are that fitment. However, just think of all the hassle you will have with getting brake discs machined to fit each time (as I said - well thought out ).
