Default ebay fun

I put my blackberry on ebay this morning for a 7 day auction, but with a buy it now of £170

Literally, within 2 minutes of placing the listing, it was sold for the buy it now price

But, the listing specified shipping/delivery to UK only addresses...

...the winning bidder had an address in Poland, but also, his ebay account has 0 feedback and was only created today!

I'm not wanting to send outside the UK, particularly to someone with no feedback and an account that was only made today...just seems a little strange

I have been in contact with him and explained that the listing stated delivery to UK addresses only and requested that the transaction be cancelled.

He replied saying ok but asked me to leave him good feedback, as of yet he has not accepted the request to cancel the transaction

I'm just wondering where I stand with this? I understand that if he doesn't responde to the request within 7 days, it's automatically cancelled...but what if he refuses/declines the request?

Isn't there an area where you as the seller can cancel the bid

As he used the buy it now, it was registering the item as sold.

I followed the instructions on ebay, which resulted in me requesting the transaction/sale to be cancelled

It needs to buyer the agree by the looks of it though

I don't suppose you know what happens if he responds, but doesn't accept the request to cancel the transaction?

Ah that's good to know! I've hardly used ebay I would have done that if I knew! lol

That's my concern.

If it was an address outside the UK, but the buyer had good feedback, etc I wouldn't have thought twice about sending it...

...but an account created today

He was proposing to still pay by paypal

However, he was sending any replys to messages direct to my email, rather than through eBay

Like I say, I've hardly used eBay, so not sure if that's normal or not

if he doesnt respond and worst case he leaves a neg as long as you have said in the advert that you dont post to outside the uk then you have a good case for getting it removed ,also if you relist it. in the buyer require ments you can block any bidder without either a credit card or paypal account on file , just another way of weeding out the scammers
cheers

Ah okay, so because I've said to cancel the transaction, I don't have to do anything further?

I can re-list, etc

You got that the wrong way round mate, only buyers can leave negatives or neutrals.

Well I had a message saying he was going to accept the request to cancel the transaction...that was a few hours ago and he's not done it yet!

Since then, he's messaged again asking me to leave him positive feedback, so he can do the same

Just a little update, I've heard nothing back from the guy and I doubt I will

As the account was only made yesterday, with no bidding or purchase history at all, I imagine that particular account was made purely to get the blackberry

Just waiting on some kind of responce to the request to cancel the transaction...I guess it will get to 7 days with no responce and then it will be closed anyway

When you're starting a new listing and inputting the information about you item, in the top right there's an option to switch to a form with more options

On the new form, close to the bottom, there's the option to add certain requirements that are needed by people to bid on/buy your item
