2) Do you not see this as damaging to the whole point of the RSOC?

Then simply sack your committe , restart your group and tell the RSOC what you have done and im 100% you will be allowed back in

Rules are rules Wil , and altho we all know we have to have rules we are all guilty of being pissed when the rules dont go in our favour , thats life

I've only been a paid member of the RSOC for the last 6mnths or so (owned the 3dr 7-8yr)...I joined to support the club and the marque. Ive not done it with an aim to get all the money back as it doesnt work that way....although in fact even though I've not been able to take up the clubs bonuses such as valuation, and insurance schemes etc (cossie off road) ive still had a very good return on my joining fee by the discounts offered to members on ND tickets (tbh a discount that I personaly think is too generous on the clubs part) deduct that total saving from my years joining fee and it works out to bugger all for a years membership.

Along with the club magazine etc we also have quarterly gang bangs jointly organised by one of our kilt wearers and one of the sheep fetish fraternity...they are cracking do's with a bit of something for everyone Bet you didnt know about that one did you?

Not that everyone does , but that FREE service is there should you require it

I cant believe there are still people who dont think being part of one of the biggest car clubs in the world isnt worth Ł35 per year

I bet them same people use the FREE website

unless you own an escort cosworth and then you have the biggest waste of space of a registrar.who cant be bothered to value a car for 99 per cent of people(i havent bothered as i had issues with him when i owned a saff 4x4),doesnt write a thing in the clubs mag, doesnt bother to arrange his own marques stand at the nat day,

shame we dont have you as our registrar paul.

im not sure whether to renew or not.mostly for the above.it ran out november and ive ummed and arhhed since

lol i like this bandwagon stuff! "it wasn't the committee that banned you it was the other groups". I mean.. LOL? are you serious? I'm wholly dissapointed with everyone crying about rules. like you ALL follow EVERY law to the letter. maybe if the club was more friendly, more people would be inclined to join. i'll certainly not pay 40 quid for 6 mags, some stickers, and a knife in the back. thanks.

If said struck off group's committee cant be arsed to show up to a mandatory meeting (was it more than once that no effort was made?) then why should the main committe bother to keep covering for them? Even more so when other groups local to the meeting place and also much further a field than the group that couldnt be arsed to turn up, actualy showed an interest and made the effort to be in attendance. Dont think any of the said groups members tried to attend in the absence of their committee did they, although I may be wrong on that count....if so then I appologise.

It boils down to 1 thing. You're either in the "in" group, or your not. Using my personal judgment, if the RSOC is as "cliquey" as PF can be, why the fuck anyone would want to be a member is beyond me. Its been a long, long time since I heard some proper praise for the RSOC, whereas I used to hear good things all the time!

To be honest mate i cant be bothered anymore , if you dont think the RSOC is worth Ł35 / Ł40 a year thats fine

I do and i will pay the very small fee for everything i get back

If you dont then ok you keep your money for whatever you want to spend it on ,

Also the membership is worth the fee alone for the fantastic insurance scheme they offer with Boncaster.

You have to be a paid up member to use the insurance scheme.

As a Ford enthusiast Im happy to pay the annual subscription...what other car marque has a following and the same amount of events as Ford does!!

long live RSOC lol

That, again, is not what i said.

It would be a worthwhile investment. But for people who want to have active participation, why would i/they shell out the 35/40 quid for the mags, stickers and the knife in the back.

That is how it was intended. I'm sure the actual RSOC is ok for people who just want the mags and stickers and any other club benefits, but if you want to join in, and you're not known, it appears (to me) that you wouldn't be as welcomed as one would hope.

Its my opinion, which, if i am not mistaken, am quite rightly entitled to.

And as for the snidey comment about saving for a "proper" RS
Still completely uncalled for.

its easy if you want to join then join if you dont want to join dont, if you do join then put yourself out attent the meets and the regional days and the people will be most friendly thats how i found it when i joined and made some good friends along the way admitedley there is a inner click but there is in every thing even on the MLR i also go on, and as for you gettin valuations on cars its been hit and miss for years as people do it for free in their spare time..... just my opinions

Same shit different month.......... If you are a member and don't like the way it's run go to the yearly AGM and get from behind you keyboard and open ya gob!!!!! If you're not a member you don't get a say I'm affraid.

I've been a member for over 8 years and have been the chairman of the Bedfordshire local Grp for over 6, I pay my way and give up hours and hours of my time for FREE, the reason I do this is because I enjoy doing it and tbh don't expect thanks every 5 minutes or expect something for nothing. You get out of a club what you put into it !!!!

Just to try and calm all down... I`m not in the "in" crowd, well known etc but whenever been to a show and looked at cars etc started chatting to the owners and always been a friendly chat. Inspires me when I am on a stand with one of my cars and someone comes to chat, I like to make the time to chat to them too.
It is a friendly club to be fair, even if you arent in the "in" crowd, the club, atmosphere, ribbing etc is all part of it

as has been said the being a member isn't just to get 35 quids worth back, friendships are worth far more, if everyone had the attitude it's not worth it then they will be no rsoc no nat day no croft etc..
I have been a member since 1995 and have met so many friends and learnt so much about the rs marque in that time, why on earth people won't join who have an rs or even an interest in them is beyond me,it's 30 odd quid which isn't even a night out nowadays..
join the club, write stuff for the mag, go to the shows, use the website that what it's there for!
