Don't think im going to as I joined for three year last time and got nothing for it.
Im not interested in the Rallye news, I don't attend National day, so don't really see the point.

I think for the money that we pay we should get more than a 20 page mag 6 times a year.

Is that why you join the RSOC , to get things given back to you ?

sorry but joining a club is about being part of the club , going to shows / track days etc etc , not " what gifts do i get back "

You get quite a bit more than 6 mags a year mate

If you pay a subscription of Ł35 per year Do you expect a Ł35 return in gifts etc ? if so then how can the club possibly survive as it costs thousands of pounds a year to run a big club like the RSOC , the office alone costs mant thousands to run , and without it the club couldnt possibly survive

I am sure the rsoc will tell you different but the finances are not good for the club

And because of all the fighting going on within the group and some right tossers being in Charge they are losing long term members too !!!i only joined to go to national day and that was poo last year so for that reason

I AM OUT

And the fact that you can get a FREE valuation ov your car by a RSOC registrar

Not that everyone does , but that FREE service is there should you require it

I cant believe there are still people who dont think being part of one of the biggest car clubs in the world isnt worth Ł35 per year

I bet them same people use the FREE website

It might be one of the biggest car clubs but it is run by some idiots who seem to only be succeding in losing members ,

Dont get me wrong i like the club and the mag every couple of months its nice to see all the cars in it from around the globe ,the insurence is a good one to , (although if you hunt about you will save the same sort of cash ).
Its the politics of the club i dislike and how certian people get away with things and others dont ,
i will still join my local group and love my rs,s( even though we have been banned from attending any rsoc branded shows for the time being ) but until something changes at the top i will not be joining

Im quessing you are from one of the local groups that has been thrown out of the RSOC because you didnt follow the rules hence why you now hate all the committee who did exactly what they are supposed to do , follow the rules

we have been banned for not turning up to the agm , that is correct ,
But our club secretary asked mr easton and others to send us a copy of the clubs rules and regulations at the beggining of last year so we could follow them , this never happened until a week after the agm which is not really very fair i think , espiecally when you phone them to argue your case they say look at the rules !!!!!!!

We have a meeting with person involved in feb so we can sort it out then .

I think its getting quieter because of other enthusiasts groups like ukfoc or another ford forum for example , also i think the membership fee is going up this year Ł40 (proberbly because they are trying to cover the costs of lost memberships )

Never been part of a group as not really any nearby, so got together with a couple of others and now forming East Sussex RS Owners Group.
Had several meetings and had new people every time, once we get to the warmer months we could have about 25-30 members.
Gonna be attending shows as a group, and get to enjoy the shows even more.
have been on various groups stands when they had spaces and all been friendly, so decided to get the group going
Will be rejoining, its not that much, not even the cost of a nite out

So you now hate the club that banned you because you FAILED to follow the rules

Its upto your elected committee members to make sure that your local group follow the rules and attend the AGM , YOUR GROUP FAILED FOR 3 YEARS in a row and now its the committees fault

And did you know it wasnt the committeees desision to actually bann you , it was voted on by all the other local groups in the room

You cant blame the committee because YOUR ELECTED COMMITTEE claim they didnt know the rules , thats bollocks mate , i sugest you elect a new committee that actually know what there doing

Also , ALL local groups that were in danger of being removed if they FAILED AGAIN to attend the AGM were told well in advance that they need to attend , but yet again YOUR COMMITTEE faild its members NOT THE NATIONAL COMMITTEE

Been with the club for 2 years, got into the local group and made dozens of genuine friends so that alone is worth the annual subs.

Love the mag, yes it's only 20-30 pages but still an interesting read.

Peoples views on the club vary to what they actually want from it, i think over the last 24 months the committee have made some very good decisions to help the members and last year national day was the best i'd been to for a few years and it's back at donno in September 2009 too

yes you are right we missed two but this year our secratary was due to go and on the evening before had a family issue so rang round some of the members but none of us could get there with such short notice , then rang the people at the top to explain but obviously no note was taken to the meeting , we will sort it out in febuary i am sure
