Default Weird Evo Suspension set-up????? (Pics incl)

Went to Croft yesterday to watch the xmas rally stages (quality day too!)

There was a red evo which handled pretty weird, very bouncy and loads of suspension travel. Anyway.... It seems to have airbags (possibly???) and a torsion bar front and back

Any particular reason why he'd go for that over standard coilovers and other gubbins???

Rear axle notice the pump type thing on just behind the wheel?

Yeah I wasn't sure about the airbag thing.... I put it in so I could be corrected....

Still the torsion bars and that funny pump thing.... it just wasn't the same as the evo which was parked next to it which had a totally different suspension set-up.

Sure its not just gravel spec? That would make the car look 'floaty'

the pump thing is prob so the driver can change the suspension set up from on the fly or it self leveling.

Dunno all the other cars were low and handled like they were on rails, this was high bouncy and loved to cock-up wheels in the corners..... Perhaps it was a rally-cross car I dunno

I think the "Torsion bar" is infact the anti-roll bar

Charlie Paynes Evo 7

Just on a gravel set up by the looks of it.

Finished 7th O/A so despite looking odd it was being driven hard

This is how "wierd" it looked cornering hard
