Lol you can not compair gearboxs it just dont work like that.
First as said its torque that breaks them then its down to how the torque comes in then its down to how its driven.
One key point a worn gearbox will take less power before braking than a new gearbox and to add to that every used box is worn diffrent so one mite take 400lb/ft but that donest mean anther can.
Normaly take the factory figure and you can run more than twice the stated on a good box if your not to rough.
If your going to run big power tip dont waste your time just wacking in a box and hope it lasts buy a box and if you have the cash fit hd stuff if you dont rebuild the box so it looks brand new and replace every worn parts inc the gears if needed and be nice to it.

Going on from what Jay has stated about my Bernie built MT75, I was told it could take upto 380lb of torque ish..... Mine doesn't run anywhere near that and it's been fine. As I had no plans for a power upgrade....
Not sure because it was a very early development (April 2003) that it might have been the prototype, maybe slightly different.... It's only been back once and that's because I broke the main shaft in 2 @ Pod lol
Other than a new shaft it had new bearings and syncos along with an inspection service. The rest of the internals had slight wear but nothing was out of place ![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
In an ideal world it might not be a perfect fit for many cars, but for mine it was perfect! 10+yrs on it's still going strong
