Chedworth has some right funny shit around it, i love that place, even if i was chased for ages by a heard of deer then got caught in the biggest rainstorm ever, then needed a shit and had to go in the woods and wipe my ass with leaves and my sokeing wet socks

Last few times i been there the metal door to the huge train tunnel has been unlocked/open but i dont know about the other side and its long and fucking dark so never had bottle to go thru it yet

Well ive tendencies to go on random explorations and find these things...

Near withington itself theres not much barring an old train station and i fell off the platform once and scraped my cheek on a tree that was growing thru the track

I dont know how long it is exactly, but ive checked on a old 1950s OS map i stole from an ex gf's dads house, and also walked across the corn field it goes under and its BIG, too trashed so far to go exploring...

How to get there is go to the roman villa, get onto the old train track along there and head left thru the woods for a while, its down there, cant miss it, belive me.
If you head right and dont mind climing thru overgrown bits and climbing fences and trespassing you go a long way but i finally got to a bit where there was a warning about loose rottweilers so i stopped

Theres also a tunnel on the other disused train track by the andoverford resovoir, its quite long as well, but not THAT long, ive not been thru it and not checked access at either end as the enterence was right where the gyppos were living, but they gone now so might go looksie if someone wants to go...

Been thru the one by the racecourse tons of times when young but that one well small, few 100 yards innit.

I know somehwere near Chepstow i wanna go tresspassing/exploring but its well dodgy and nearly a mile underground at one point...

You dont walk down any running mainline traintracks you spacco, thru the Box Tunnels they do about 100mph anyhow if you want to do kill yourself, few months ago some dopey pricks did walk thru there, got spotted, got arrested, caused 50k's worth of delays or summat.
To get to them old bomb storage place in the mountains you just need to go into Box woods and find one of the emergency exits by sounds of it, so pretty much a more "summer" thing like Steve mentioned....

Disused/Abandoned traintracks are fair game tho, but no need if you on about the place i was.

Croakey/Daz- Count me in i reckon too, only thing is NEED to check out other side of that tunnel before go in as it might be 100% bricked up or the door shut, i know where otehr side is, and think i know how to get to it. The villa side is bricked up apart from the top few feet to lets bats in n out, but it has a small metal door, and last few times i been up there the door was open...
BUt if your up for a lil bit of a drive the other direction, i know somewhere way better just near Chepstow, track n all is still there but not been used since early 90s, and part of it is this...

Nearly a mile long if i remember right, shows how long it is when some geezer puts up all them lights n shit and still cant see the exit, that was taken in march this year in mid afternoon so no light problem, lol.

I know RAF boddington but theres fuck all you can explore there, tho by how really small it is i guess its all underground...

Excellent reading - I love all this sort of stuff too!

http://www.starfury.demon.co.uk/uground/

Above site is all about abandoned / unused Underground stations - well interesting.

I'm in Somerset - if anyone's going to do any exploring let me know - I've got a pile of torches and no fear of the dark (though guns may be a different issue )

I'm up for a bit of mild breaking and entering as well if the door is shut!!

Some very interesting stuff there.

Another one for you.

Inside a bridge in the centre of London over the Thames is a full on army firing range.

One little door in the side of the bridge support, and there's a this whole maze of tunnels and storage rooms.

Can't get in without an MOD pass, so I don't think I'd get in there again

Steve, The "works access "on the M4 is RAF welford where they store Bombs(US),There is alot of stuff like this all over the place, you think you're not being watched, you are, even this page is probably being read now.As for underground railways and stuff, it's all fiction, trust me on that.

Regarding the underground railways...

Well yes n no, the thing bout trains connected to the Box BR tunnel inside is probly bollocks, BUT the underground WW2 munitions base you an wonder round under those hills had narrow gague railways all thru it, thats just a fact, can even see the remains now. Easier to move bombs around like that than with big trucks or by hand, lol.

And on one side of the Box Tunnel enterences there was another enterence next to it, quite a long time ago they fitted a big gate to it to stop anyone going in, and now theyve fitted big metal fencing in a few 100m perimiter to this "other" enterence with CCTV n allsorts right up to the nearest station. So where does this other tunnel go as there no exit the other side?
If it was nothing interesting theyd just leave a normal fance like on most disused tunnels, but this ones got bigtime security.

And there plenty of other underground bases (most disused) in the UK where railways used to or still do go inside etc. It just makes sence as its easiest way of unloading the trains, right to where they should be.
Probably more with narrowgague trainlines (like the Postoffice trainlines under london that they dont use anymore but are still there) too, but i dont know, not THAT interested.

I like exploring disused tunnels etc, but i couldnt give a fuck about all this other shit, im no Xfiles conspircacy theorist dork, lol
